Concepcion de Montagut is a Retired Partner of Montagut & Sobral, where she practiced immigration law for over 35 years.
Concepcion maintained a diverse practice which included business immigration, non-immigrant visas, naturalization and deportation defense. Her business immigration clients ranged from large, multinational corporations to start-up enterprises that required innovative ideas in challenging situations. Concepcion successfully represented clients from all over the world and helped thousands of immigrants obtain legal permanent resident status. Concepcion has participated in several forums and panels as a specialist in immigration law and has a reputation in the community for being an honest and zealous advocate.
Concepcion received her Juris Doctorate and Bachelor’s Degree from The University of Barcelona. She also earned an LLM from The George Washington University Law School and studied at Georgetown University. Concepcion was a member of the Bars of the Commonwealth of Virginia and the District of Columbia and was admitted to practice before the US District Court of the Eastern District of Virginia. She was an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
Concepcion is fluent in Spanish and was a frequent speaker on Radio America where Montagut & Sobral hosts a weekly radio program “Todo Sobre Inmigracion” to answer callers’ immigration questions and advise on general immigration developments. Concepcion is also frequently asked to write articles regarding immigration law for area Spanish newspapers.
