David received his Juris Doctorate from The George Washington University Law School and his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Information Technology from Virginia Tech. David is authorized to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the District of Columbia and is authorized to appear before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States of America.
David has represented clients throughout the many stages of the immigration process. David specializes in Provisional Unlawful Presence Waivers (601A) and other Waivers of Inadmissibility where extreme hardship must be carefully examined and presented to USCIS. David has accompanied over 500 clients of Montagut & Sobral to their Permanent Residence interview at local USCIS field offices. David has also litigated Custody Petitions related to Special Immigrant Juvenile Status in many jurisdictions across the Commonwealth of Virginia.
David was formerly Corporate Counsel at VMware where he negotiated software licensing agreements and technology transactions. David was also an Associate in the Business Transactions & Corporate group of Dow Lohnes, PLLC (now Cooley LLP). David also worked as a Legal Clerk for WashingtonPost.Newsweek Interactive (a subsidiary of The Washington Post Company).
David is fluent in Spanish and a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
